The published formula also lists Tween 80 (0.5%), Acacia Senegal Gum and Xanthan Gum (0.3%), Euxyl K830 (0.5%), Disodium EDTA (0.05%), and demineralized water (q.s. to 100%). These help with solubilizing, texture, preservation and stability.

        03 / THE VITAMIN A FAMILY

Not all retinoids are created equal.

Retinyl Palmitate, Retinol and Retinal are all part of the vitamin A family. The difference is how the skin processes them, which influences both their activity and how easily they may be tolerated.

INSIDE NIGHT ELIXIR · 0.5% RETINYL PALMITATE

A gentler way to explore the vitamin A family.

Retinyl Palmitate is a vitamin A ester, generally considered milder than retinol or retinal. It needs to be converted by the skin before reaching active retinoic acid, which is one reason its cosmetic effects tend to be more subtle and its irritation potential lower.

Retinyl PalmitateCosmetic · in Night Elixir

A mild vitamin A ester typically used for skin-conditioning and age-supporting cosmetic routines.

Common consideration: milder retinoid activity; suitable for sensitive skin as well when introduced gradually.
        RetinolCosmetic skincare

Often used for the look of fine lines, texture and uneven tone.

Common side effects: dryness, scaling, stinging or redness, especially at first.
        Retinal (Retinaldehyde)Cosmetic skincare

One conversion step from retinoic acid; often chosen for a more active vitamin A skincare approach.

Common side effects: irritation, dryness or peeling can occur.
        TretinoinPrescription retinoid

Active retinoic acid used medically for acne and photoageing under clinical guidance.

Common side effects: redness, dryness, peeling and irritation; medical guidance is important.

This is a simplified conversion pathway, not a concentration-for-concentration potency chart. Prescription retinoids such as adapalene and tazarotene follow different pharmacological pathways.

        WHY THE PAIRING IS THOUGHTFUL

        2% Bakuchiol + 0.5% Retinyl Palmitate

Bakuchiol has human research supporting improvements in the appearance of fine lines and uneven-looking tone with better tolerability than retinol in one clinical trial. Retinyl Palmitate offers a gentler vitamin A pathway. Night Elixir brings these together with Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerine and D-Panthenol for a balanced, moisture-conscious evening ritual.

Bakuchiol is a botanical active, while Retinyl Palmitate belongs to the vitamin A family. Introduce the pairing gradually and give your skin time to adapt.

04 / FIND YOUR SKIN TYPE

A routine that respects your skin.

Skin type influences how you introduce an active serum. Explore the guidance below and adapt your evening routine to what feels comfortable.

        Normal skinA straightforward evening ritual

Night Elixir may fit a routine focused on hydration, texture and early signs of ageing. Use 2 to 3 drops after cleansing, then moisturize. Introduce any new active product gradually.

        Dry skinHydration and comfort first

Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerine and D-Panthenol contribute to the moisture-supporting side of this formula. Follow with a nourishing moisturizer; if dryness increases, reduce frequency.

Combination skinAdapt to different facial zones

A small amount across the face may suit an evening routine for uneven-looking tone and texture. Adjust moisturizer to the drier areas and monitor the oilier T-zone for how it responds.

Oily or blemish-prone skinStart light and observe

Niacinamide may be relevant to uneven-looking tone, and Bakuchiol has been researched for photoageing. Begin with a small amount and monitor comfort. Night Elixir is not an acne medication and is not claimed to be non-comedogenic.

Sensitive or reactive skinA gentle-minded approach, introduced carefully

Retinyl Palmitate is a comparatively mild retinoid ester and Bakuchiol has encouraging tolerability research. But sensitive skin is individual, and a formula with both ingredients can still irritate. Patch test first; if tolerated, start on alternate nights, follow with moisturizer and increase frequency gradually as your skin feels comfortable. Avoid applying on actively irritated or broken skin.

Because Night Elixir contains a vitamin A derivative, avoid it during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Seek clinical guidance when breastfeeding. If you have active eczema, rosacea flare-ups or a compromised barrier, consult a dermatologist before introducing a retinoid-containing product.
